CIRCUITS
A Circuit in Methodist Church Nigeria is made up of at least three Local Churches with not less than 500 adult members, under the Pastoral care of one or more Ministers. In accordance with the tradition of Methodism, a Circuit is a district authoritative unit within a Diocese in which usually several local Churches, conveniently situated for the purpose, are grouped together for pastoral oversight, mutual support, and Christian service.
Presently, we have the following Circuits/Sections in the Diocese. These are their Headquarter churches:
- D/LINE CIRCUIT – Methodist Church Nigeria, D/Line Cathedral.

Circuit Official Meetings
Circuit Official meetings are:

The Quarterly Meeting appoints members of the following Committees:
- Circuit Lay Preachers, Outreach and Evangelism Committee
- Circuit Law and Property Committee
- Circuit Finance and Strategic Planning Committee
- Circuit Women’s Work Committee
- Circuit Children and Youth Work Committee
- Circuit Men’s Work Committee
Circuit Quarterly Meeting: Composition and Qualification
The following persons are members:
- The Presbyter as Chairperson
- Appointed Ministers to the Circuit
- Supernumerary Ministers connected to the Circuit
- Lay Missionaries of Local Churches
- Secretary elected by the Quarterly Meeting
- Women workers appointed to the Circuit
- Church workers of Local Churches
- Lay Presidents of the Archdiocese/Diocese
- Circuit Stewards
- Youth Council President and Secretary
- Stewards, Treasurers, Class Leaders, Sunday School Superintendents, etc.
- Circuit Treasurer, Legal Adviser, Technical Adviser
Functions of the Circuit Quarterly Meeting
- Oversight of spiritual and administrative affairs
- Approve budget, receive financial and membership reports
- Approve Lay Preachers, consider evangelism and youth programs
- Manage church property and appointments
- Implement Diocesan/Conference directives
- Submit 5-year development plans and meeting minutes
The Circuit Council
The Circuit Council includes all key leaders from the Local Churches and Circuit bodies. Its functions include:
- Implement Diocesan decisions
- Approve reports and supervise funds
- Act on urgent matters between Quarterly Meetings
Circuit Steward and Treasurer
Tenure: Three years, renewable once.
Duties of Circuit Steward
- Receive contributions from Local Churches
- Prepare and present Circuit budget
- Maintain accounts, assist Presbyter, and manage funds
Duties of Circuit Treasurer
- Assist Steward
- Perform duties assigned by Quarterly Meeting
- Act when Stewards are unavailable
