    BETHEL CONVENTION 2025

    RISING IN HIS GLORY

    PREAMBLE: THE BETHEL EXPERIENCE

BETHEL Convention is the spiritual heartbeat of D/Line Diocese—a sacred annual gathering where heaven touches earth and lives are forever transformed. Born in 2018 through divine inspiration, BETHEL has evolved from a simple diocesan meeting into a powerful spiritual movement that draws thousands from across the region.

This is not just another church program. BETHEL is a holy intersection where God meets His people with unprecedented power. It is the one occasion each year when every member of the Diocese—from the smallest preaching station to the largest circuit—converges as one family under the manifest presence of God.

For seven consecutive years, BETHEL has stood as a beacon of revival, holiness, and spiritual awakening. Each edition leaves participants forever marked by divine encounters, miraculous testimonies, and life-changing revelations. The impact has been so profound that other dioceses have adopted the BETHEL model, making it a template for revival across the Methodist Church Nigeria and beyond.

BETHEL is where chains are broken, destinies are ignited, hope is restored, and the glory of God descends in tangible measure. It is Jacob’s ladder replayed in our generation—a place where angels ascend and descend, carrying the prayers of God’s people to His throne and bringing back answers that transform lives.

    BETHEL CONVENTION, 2025

    D/LINE DIOCESAN ANNUAL CONVENTION

The BETHEL Convention of D/Line Diocese is not just another program on the church calendar; it is the heartbeat of our spiritual journey as a people. This annual gathering draws together every member of the Diocese, from the smallest preaching stations to the largest circuits, from fellowship centres to local churches, uniting us as one family under God. It is the one time each year when the walls of distance, boundaries, and differences collapse, and the people of God converge in one holy assembly at BETHEL.

The vision was birthed in 2018, conceived by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and nurtured in the atmosphere of obedience. From that very first edition, the flame of revival was kindled, and what began as a simple gathering has now grown into a spiritual movement that carries the unmistakable fragrance of heaven.

Year after year, BETHEL Convention has become a sacred altar. A place of holiness, a call to revival, and a trumpet of righteousness sounding across the Diocese. Each edition leaves behind a trail of unforgettable memories, spiritual encounters, and testimonies so profound that participants depart with hearts already yearning for the next. Truly, BETHEL is more than an event; it has become a household name, a spiritual landmark etched into the very fabric of our Diocese.

Its impact is not confined within the D/Line Diocese alone. The fire from BETHEL has spread, and the format has inspired other dioceses to birth their own models of this holy convocation. Indeed, BETHEL has become a pattern, a template of what God can do when a people rise in unity to seek His face.

The convention has been graced by ministers of God, both within and beyond the Methodist Church Nigeria, each ministering under the canopy of grace and the covering of the Holy Spirit. In every session — whether through the word, worship, or prayer — the voice of the Spirit has echoed clearly, breaking chains, healing hearts, restoring hope, and igniting destinies.

BETHEL is no ordinary meeting ground. It is a place where heaven kisses the earth, where angels ascend and descend, bearing gifts to men and carrying the cries, pleas, and petitions of God’s people into His throne room. It is a divine intersection — the ladder of Jacob replayed in our generation, reminding us that God is still with His Church, guiding, reviving, and empowering His people.

The BETHEL Convention is, and shall remain, a rallying point for the Diocese: a place of renewal, a school of holiness, a furnace of revival, and a sanctuary of righteousness. And as long as God gives us breath, we shall keep ascending BETHEL, for here, the Lord Himself meets with His people.

    BETHEL: THEMES SINCE INCEPTION (2018 – 2025)

When the Spirit stirred our hearts in 2018, the D/Line Diocese embarked on a prophetic journey to BETHEL, taking a cue from the Biblical example of Jacob. Since then, each year has unfolded a divine chapter, shaping our walk with God and reaffirming our covenant mandate.

2018 – THE CHURCH AS AN AGENT OF PEACE AND HOLINESS

At a time when the world was engulfed in chaos and moral decay, BETHEL was birthed as a rallying point. The theme reminded us of our sacred responsibility: to stand as a beacon of peace and holiness in a troubled generation.

2019 – WHEN GOD SPEAKS, JUST OBEY

Before the euphoria of BETHEL could overwhelm us, the Spirit directed our focus back to the voice of the Master. The call was clear — obedience is not optional but essential in the Christian race.

    2020 – WHOM SHALL I SEND?

The world was shaken by the plague of COVID-19, yet amid the storm, God’s voice resounded with urgency: Who will go for us? This theme challenged us to present our lives willingly at a time when humanity sought answers beyond science.

    2021 – WHILE MEN SLEPT

As the pandemic lingered, Christians were awakened to the subtle danger of complacency. This theme was a solemn reminder of vigilance, urging us to guard against spiritual slumber in perilous times.

    2022 – REDEEMING THE TIME

Counting the cost of wasted opportunities, believers were exhorted to maximize every moment in preparation for eternity. This theme rekindled urgency for holy living and purposeful service.

    2023 – MORE THAN CONQUERORS

Having survived trials and setbacks, the Church lifted its head with boldness. This theme declared our victory in Christ, enabling us to look the devil in the face with confidence that through Him we always overcome.

2024 – BUILDING FOR ETERNAL REWARDS

Beyond earthly pursuits, this theme redirected our eyes to eternity. It was a call to build lives, families, and ministries on foundations that will outlive time and bring eternal rewards.

2025 – RISING IN HIS GLORY

Now, the Spirit beckons us higher. This is not merely a theme but a season of unveiling — a call to shake off the dust of defeat, rise in renewed strength, and reflect the glory of the risen Christ. At BETHEL 2025, we are ascending into the realm where God’s people radiate His presence in their homes, churches, and society. Truly, the glory of the latter house shall be greater than the former.

    Conclusion

From peace and holiness (2018) to rising in His glory (2025), BETHEL has been a spiritual journey of transformation. Each theme has built upon the other, shaping a people who are alert, obedient, victorious, and eternally focused. Indeed, at BETHEL, we continue to proclaim with one voice:
“We are RISING IN HIS GLORY!”

  • 🌟 Why Our Ministries Matter: Building Faith, Hope, and Love in the Community

    Introduction
The church is more than a building where people gather on Sundays—it is a living community, a family bound together in faith and service. At the Methodist Church Nigeria, D-Line Diocese, our ministries exist to bring the love of Christ beyond the pulpit and into everyday life. Through worship, service, discipleship, and outreach, we are committed to building a community where faith, hope, and love flourish.

    1. Faith That Transforms

Our ministries provide opportunities for spiritual growth through worship, prayer, and discipleship. Whether in Sunday services, House Fellowships, or through Bible study groups, we are intentional about creating spaces where members can deepen their relationship with God. Faith is the foundation on which every other aspect of ministry stands, and it continues to transform lives in our Diocese.

    2. Hope That Sustains

In a world filled with challenges, the church is called to be a beacon of hope. Our Prison Ministry, for example, extends God’s grace to those society often forgets, reminding them that no one is beyond redemption. The Prayer Band also intercedes tirelessly for the church, the community, and individuals facing difficulties, ensuring that hope remains alive even in the darkest times.

    3. Love That Serves

True love is demonstrated in action. Our Children’s Ministry nurtures the next generation, while the Association of Methodist Brigade builds discipline and service into the lives of young people. From supporting families to running schools and orphanages, our ministries are actively living out Christ’s commandment to “love one another.”

    Conclusion
Every ministry in the Methodist Church Nigeria, D-Line Diocese, is more than a program—it is an expression of Christ’s mission to bring light into the world. As we continue to grow together, we invite you to not only participate but also find your place of service. When each of us contributes our gifts, the whole body of Christ is strengthened, and our community becomes a true reflection of God’s kingdom.
